Yes, I buy cage free, even though I'm on a very tight budget. The way I look at it is this: even the highest-quality, cage-free eggs are under $4 a dozen. That's only 33 cents per egg, or 66 cents per meal if you have two. So eggs are still a great bargain as a protein source. So why pinch a few pennies and make birds suffer horribly? And why let huge companies that practice this torture think it's OK to continue to do so?
